July 16, 2025 – Neenah, WI – Cobblestone Hotels celebrated the groundbreaking of their new hotel in Monte Vista, CO. 

The ceremony featured speakers from various local organizations such as the City of Monte Vista, RG Bank, and the local investment group. Members of the Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce were also present, along with other supportive members of the community. Representatives from Cobblestone Hotels also attended the event to demonstrate their support for this project and share in the excitement for the future of the brand and the future of Monte Vista.  

Gigi Dennis, City Manager for the City of Monte Vista, spoke on the vision that she and many others share regarding the part that this hotel will play in the economic development of the city. The location of this hotel favors the Ski Hi Complex and event center in Monte Vista, which hosts events year-round and is a large source of tourism and revenue for the city. The hotel will be within walking distance of the event center and will offer guests a place to recharge and relax as they are attending local events both at Ski Hi and elsewhere in the area.  

This Cobblestone Hotel & Suites belongs to Cobblestone’s Main Street product, which highlights modern design elements and incorporates local history into multiple facets of the building. The downtown location is also convenient to a variety of unique local eateries and shops that  guests will appreciate easy access to during their stay in Monte Vista.  

Dale Becker, Mayor of the City of Monte Vista, applauded the dedication demonstrated by the city as well as the local investors who all share  the same dream for the future of their city. Becker stated, “We see what we can do when we become a community of believers and a  community with lot of faith”. The group effort to bring this hotel to the city was the result of many years of effort on the part of local players  who are passionate about their city and remain unwavering in their goal to propel Monte Vista towards continued economic growth.  

Jeremy Griesbach, President of Development for Cobblestone Hotels, thanked the community of Monte Vista for being home to  Cobblestone’s 10^th location in Colorado and their first Main Street project in the state. “We do appreciate everything everybody has done”  Griesbach said “It doesn’t happen without you.”  

This hotel will be a sixty-two-room facility spanning four floors. Guests will be able to enjoy Cobblestone’s consistent amenities such as  Seattle’s Best Coffee service, high-speed internet access, and a complimentary hot breakfast each morning. Guestrooms will be equipped  with flat-panel televisions, microwaves, refrigerators, and in-room personal coffee brewers.  

The Cobblestone Hotel & Suites will be located at 2351 Sherman Avenue in Monte Vista, Colorado. This hotel will host an onsite lounge,  business center, indoor swimming pool, onsite fitness center, and onsite convenience store to meet the needs of those seeking lodging in the  Monte Vista area. The property is being constructed by Brimark Builders and is managed by Slate Hospitality Group.
